School Nutritional Program

India houses the highest number of malnourished people in the world with one third of about two billion global sufferers of vitamin and micronutrient deficit being in India.

The objective of the School Nutrition Program is to reduce micronutrient deficiency status of children in the country by focusing on 0-10 years of a child’s life - the most critical period in a child’s development. To attain the objective, AAA Approach i.e. Assessment, Analysis and Awareness is being used which includes Liaising/ Networking with local key stakeholders, Trainings/ Capacity Building of the school teachers and parent volunteers, Pre & Post Nutritional Assessment of primary school children and IEC/ BCC Activities for behavioural change.
