Celebrating 20 years of technology & innovation at SHARP NGO!!

In the early 1998, when most of the organizations working for health benefits were steeped in paper, a handful of highly progressive healthcare providers at NGO SHARP embarked on the journey to implement a computer-based health record for Delhi school children as a pilot (coverage at “The Hindu” newspaper). Envisioning the benefits of electronic health records 21 years back the organization finally came in the picture in 1999. Since then there was no TURNING BACK!!

With the objective of providing evidence based qualitative health benefits the organization stands by as the only organization in India to maintain digitalized health records of school children & community benefactors since 1999.  With enormous benefits of digital records we designed various in house applications & portals making health services scalable, accessible, affordable and sustainable to manage and implement for the school children and communities.

Fast forward to 2015, launch of digital India campaign by our honorable Prime Minister of India for digital & knowledge based transformation the benefits of E-records in all sectors of the society are widely recognized. The “International Digital Health Symposium” held at New-Delhi on 27th February 2019 had broaden our horizon on establishing specific mechanism and sustainable introduction of digital technologies to maximize the use of digital health and affirm the attainment of sustainable development goals. The Symposium provided a forum to learn from key global leaders in the field of digital health and innovation showcasing key innovations and sharing experiences of implementing digital health interventions for health systems strengthening and Universal Health Coverage.

As technology is evolving each generation of tech has helped mobility leapfrog and enabled a paradigm change in the way people and devices connect with each other. It feels like our 20 year old vision has come true now of building a system to strengthen digital advancement and with platforms like “International Digital Health Symposium” now the whole ecosystem of digitalization and technology can be build. With this great opportunity we intent to grow more in future by leveraging our contribution and impact with current government schemes for a continual and sustainable improvement in the society.
